8/20		There were no declarations of interest.

9/20		The minutes of the meeting held on 15 July 2020 were confirmed as a correct record and signed by the Chair.

10/20		Maria Murrell and Rachel Batey presented an Action Plan setting out the actions and timescales for implementation of the review recommendations.

The Select Committee discussed the importance of schools having referral information from the holiday period at the beginning of the Autumn Term and requested further information on the delivery of relationship education in schools including how the training will be delivered, who will be delivering the training and assurances about reaching target groups.

A progress update would be presented to the Select Committee in 12 months.

11/20		Dave Willingham presented an Action Plan setting out the actions and timescales for implementation of the review recommendations.

In answer to Members’ questions, Dave confirmed that all special needs pupils were supported by the Council where they were at risk of becoming NEET; in addition Abbey Hill and Westlands had their own dedicated careers advisers. With respect to the impact of COVI-19, Dave was pleased to report that all Yr 11 students had been contacted by a careers adviser during lockdown.

A progress update would be presented to the Select Committee in 12 months.

12/20		Liam Twizell (Healthwatch) presented the Annual Report for 2019/20.

Children’s Mental Health remained a priority in Stockton and nationally and work would be focusing on what was being provided in educational settings. Healthwatch were also seeking to increase their engagement with young people and were looking to recruit more young people onto the Executive Board.

Work plans were being updated due to the impact of COVID-19 and different ways of working has been adopted and would continue in view of ongoing restrictions.

14/20		The Chair encouraged all Members of the Select Committee to attend the Domestic Abuse training due to take place on 8 October 2020.
